grab bags we have found

What grab bag of comic books have you found?

(edited 2009 April 28 ): While my main reason for buying certain grab bags are the comics that can been seen before purchase, I do semi-like the mystery due to the comics in the middle are only revealed until after purchase)

I bought two grab bags today and thought I'd post about them.

Both grab bags were 6 comics for 99cents.

Bought first grab bag because it included an issue of Cheval Noir.
* Cheval Noir #16 was visible from front
* Stormwatch #3 (1993 series) was visible from back
In the middle of the grab bag were:
* Dragonforce #6 published by Aircel
* Joe Martin's Seeker #1 published by Sky Comics
* War Dancer #6 published by Defiant
* Ms. Tree #36 published by Renegade

I got two comics I like (Cheval Noir and Ms. Tree) so I'm satisifed with this grab bag.
(I usually consider Aircel comics to be low-quality. I don't know the quality of the others comics)

***

Bought second grab bag because it included an issue of Alien Worlds by Pacific Comics.

* Alien Worlds - #1 (1982 series) was visible from front
* Aliens: Earth War #1 was visible from back
In the middle of the grab bag were:
* Deathmate - Prologue published by Valiant
* Hamster Vice #2 published by Blackthorne Publishing
* Airboy #29 published by Eclipse Comics
* Wetworks #11 published by Image

I got one comic I like (Alien Worlds) and one comic (Hamster Vice) I'll give to an anthropomorphic archive so I'm semi-satisifed with this grab bag.

Got two more grab bags.

Bought first grab bag because it included an issue of NewMen

* NewMen #14 (1994 series) was visible from front
* Stormwatch #3 (1993 series) was visible from back (already have this issue from a grab bag listed in post above)
In the middle of the grab bag were:
* Airboy #5
* Trouble With Girls #14 (1989 series)
* Turok, Dinosaur Hunter #27 (1993 series)
* Solar, Man of the Atom #33 ("Solar the Destroyer" on cover)

I got two comics i'm interested in (NewMen and Trouble With Girls (apparently satirical)), so I'm satisfied with this grab bag.

Bought second grab bag because it included an issue of Corum: The Bull and the Spear

* Rai #26 was visible from front
* Corum: The Bull and the Spear #4 was visible from back
In the middle of the grab bag were:
* Darque Passages #1 (1994 series)
* Harbinger #37
* Robocop: Prime Suspect #3
* Solar, Man of the Atom #31

Got one comic I'm moderately interested in (Corum: The Bull and the Spear).

I'm hoping Michael Moorcock's comic stories make sense when I finally have all the issues and read them.

Is there a comic book archive in the GVRD?

2 comics archives at

and http://library.cenhum.artsci.wustl.edu/ (smaller collection in WUSTL's MGHL )
