Which movies are you looking forward to?

Postby Danger on Mon Jun 01, 2009 7:56 pm

Well its 2009 and there were a lot of expected movies that have come and gone in the past 12 months (including 2008). We've had comic book greats hit the screen such as the Dark Knight, Iron Man, and the Watchmen. There was the animated success in Wall*E, and debatable legacy killing movies like Indiana Jones Legend of the Crystal Skull.

2009 is almost halfway through but we've already been delighted (maybe) with Wolverine, Terminator Salvation, and Star Trek (yup, this was good). Transformers and GI Joe are all still in the wings for the pop culture community to feast their eyes on.

So really, what are you guys looking forward to? What have you already enjoyed?

Hmm,
I'm looking forward to Moon
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1182345/
http://www.sonyclassics.com/moon/ (warning: spoilers in trailer)

To watch on DVD (or with friends at theatre)
* Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (with animation friend)
* The Stoning of Soraya M. (with traveller friend)
* Bruno (might see with comedy friends. I haven't seen Borat yet.)

Waiting for DVDs:
* Dead Snow (IMDB spoiled the ending .. arg)
* G-Force (small chance local furries might watch on DVD .. otherwise I'll skip it)

I plan to avoid watching Harry Potter movies until last is released (hoping a theatre will show the Potter movies over a week or weekend)

Only seen two summer movies so far:
* new Star Trek (my fav actors in it are Simon Pegg and Leonard Nimoy.)
* Up (with a good amount of comedy)
I volunteer at comixpedia.org and comicbookdb.com

Is there a comic book archive in the GVRD?

2 comics archives at
http://www.lib.msu.edu/comics/rri/index.htm
and http://library.cenhum.artsci.wustl.edu/ (smaller collection in WUSTL's MGHL )

Moon was absolutely fantastic. And I'm not just saying that because I have fantasies revolving around Robert Downey Jr.
Sherlock Holmes was also fantastic. And I am just saying that because I have fantasies revolving around Robert Downey Jr. And now a great deal of them involve handcuffs, nudity, and victorian drapery.

Up next:
